Hey there! We’re identical twin sisters, not only sisters but best friends, living in Florida who have a passion for graphic design. After 23 years of living together and spending a ton of time with one another somehow, we aren’t sick of each other yet. Working together has always been a dream of ours. So we decided to take the leap and are excited to be starting this business together.
As the kids who weren’t into sports or band but wanted to be involved in our school, we decided to sign up for our middle school yearbook club in the eighth grade. It was through this program that we gained interest in applying for our high school yearbook staff. Looking back at this now, we both agree becoming YERDS (yearbook nerds) is one of the best decisions we ever made. It was this national award-winning high school program that introduced us to designing and made us aware of how design plays a role in our daily lives. Over four years of being on the Stampede Staff, we learned the rules of design, gained photography skills, and became experts in the adobe creative suite. We went from newbies not knowing san-serif from serif fonts to font snob editors-in-chief.
Flash-forward nine years later from that first introduction and we are still in love with everything about designing. Although we both did not pursue a graphic design degree, we both kept design in mind with our college major choices. We both pursued other fields at the University of Florida, computer science, and public relations, but our hearts have always been with designing. Computer science brought skills of user experience design, and public relations brought skills of how design communicates to people, especially in the days of social media.
So enough of some background on us and now onto the future. We are so excited to get started and share our journey with you as we grow our studio. We’re going to be sharing behind the scenes on projects, design tricks, and branding tips on this blog. Although, we do love to bake and are a little obsessed with our Cricut machine so some of those things may sneak onto here. But come on, who doesn’t want to be inspired by a hand-drawn chocolate chip cookie sticker or better yet see the gooeyness of a homemade chocolate chip cookie?!
If you’re reading this right now, we want to say thank you. Thank you for joining us on this crazy ride where there’s sure to be lots of laughter, happy tears, and sweets from stress baking to keep us going. We are so grateful for you and glad to know you’re out there wanting to know what we have to say.
